The digital project “Heritage of Kalamaria” consists of various events that aim at highlighting and making know the history as well as the culture of Kalamaria, and at presenting contemporary aspects through the work of photographers. The actual project that is the core of this website, features a self-guided audio tour and includes the collection section of private historical photos of Kalamaria (digital repository).

The Photography Museum “Christos Kalemkeris” (www.phmk.gr) wants to disseminate the art and technique of photography. Its initial goal is to make known to the public the history of Greece in order to know and understand the cultural patrimony of this country and to experience the awakening of its memory and history.
The museum promotes and encourages the use of new technologies and interactive programs offering a successful and harmonious combination of the historical past and the present with a look at the future, and organizing exhibitions, educational programs, audiovisual events, numerous events of all aspects, and publishing various books. Pavlos Kalemkeris, president of the museum, is the coordinator of this project. Kalliopi Valtopoulou, historian-museuologist, is the curator, while Dimitrios Vais, independent scholar-specialist of the history of Kalamaria, significantly contributed to it.

The Historical Archive of Refugee Hellenism (www.iape.org.gr) has been operating since 1994, as a Legal Entity under Public Law of the Municipality of Kalamaria. The aim of the institution is to contribute to the rescue, preservation and dissemination of the history of the refugees and the promotion of the historical identity of the refugee Hellenism as a whole. The historian Maria Kazantzidou contributed to this project.
