Nea Krini
Nea Krini was formed in 1929-1930 by refugees from Çeşme (the word Çeşme means spring or fountain in Turkish) and Smyrna. The settlement borders Miaouli, Ephesou, Kanari, Vryoulon, Koundourioti, Alatsaton, Ioakeim streets and the coastal road. Several villas were built around Atlantidos, Ioakeim, and Miaouli streets, on the beach and the area defined by Atlantidos, Ioakeim and Kountourioti streets. Nea Krini became home to 210 families. Most houses were duplexes. More than 80% of the inhabitants were fishermen, while the children who assisted their fathers attended evening school in Analipsi. The others attended regular classes at the school of Aretsou. The church of the settlement was Agia Paraskevi. Like Aretsou, Nea Krini was an attractive destination for holidaymakers.
